Short term parking zones

The inner city of Linz is a short term parking zone. It's bordered from the Promenade, Domgasse, Zollamt- and Fabrikstraße in the north, from the Kaisergasse, Eisenhand- and Körnerstraße to the Kantstraße in the east, from the Blumauer-, Land-, Stelzhamer-, Volksgarten- and Weingartshofstraße in the south and from the Waldeggstraße, Keller-, Sandgasse and Hopfengasse and the Kapuzinerstraße in the west. The maximum parking duration is 30, 90, or 180 minutes. The short term parking zones are valid Monday-Friday 8a.m. - 6.30p.m. and Saturday 8a.m.-12p.m. At this times you have to pay €1,00 for every half an hour.

Permanent parking permits (Germ. "Dauerparkberechtigung") are available for residents of short term parking zones at the Bürgerservice Center.

Since September 2024, the permanent parking permit has been available digitally and therefore no longer needs to be visibly deposited in the vehicle. The supervisory body on site can check whether the vehicle has a valid authorisation during the inspection.
You have the option of applying for this online and paying immediately. The permanent parkin permit is then valid on the following day.

  • € 61,10 for 1 year
  • € 101,20 for 2 years

Parking tickets

The parking fee in the chargeable short-term parking zones is uniformly €1.00 for each commenced half hour, whereby the full fee is payable at least for the first half hour.

The parking ticket machines are clearly marked with a white “P” on a blue background.
